In a year 1971. in the area of west coast of district Trogir, rises first modern touristic hotel complex 'Medena' with numerous  touristic and sport contents. During the 80s, this touristic zone expands getting new apartmants and a camp that can make place for over few thousands of tourists, including the participants of the 7th Mediterranean games in 1979., and Athletic championship of the Europe in 1990. when it functions as a kind of an Olympic games.

These processes are followed by a suitable marketing representation of Trogir on world's touristic market, by publishing numerous touristical and cultural monographies and guides and similar promotive publishings by famous Croatian historians and scientists (Dr.sc. Cvito Fisković, prof.dr. Ivo Babić, prof.dr. Stanko Geić, prof. Mirko Slade Šilović, prof. Ivo Dellale, dr.sc. Fani Celio Cega...).Along with this activity, Trogir and its historical core is in operacionalisation of the city, cultural institutions and Touristic alliance, it is stage of numerous high-quality home and international cultural and touristic manifestations (Trogir Week, Trogir Summer, Modafest International, Games without limits, Adriatic Meetings, Festival of Meditarrean Folklore, 'Pjaca-placa-trg', Across our beautiful country – Trogir UNESCO, Split Summer, International Festival of Tenors...).Town is more and more often  host of public media representatives and important persons from all over the world which provides it with world touristic and cultural affirmation that has culminated by joining UNEP's list of 100 historical cores of Mediterranean (1987.), and by signing in UNESCO's register of world heritage (1997.).

At the beginning of 90s, in the area of Trogir district in basic and complementary accomodation capacity and nautical centers (ACI – Trogir and Agana – Marina), there are 15000 accomodation units that realize million of touristic overnights and 35USD of touristic consumption.  By this, tourism becomes one of the leading economical activities of social and vital private sector that generates one quarter of employment and one fifth of social product.
