


Tourism in Trogir
How Trogir touristically developed
More and more intensive touristical movements result in forming first touristic associations; Society for making the city more beautiful (1928) and Society for tourism improvement (1936) that after forming publishes famous guide 'About history, art and life of Trogir' written by a famous Croatian historian, inhabitant of Trogir dr. priest Ivan Delalle. Guide's appendix tells about good climate conditions for the development of tourism, especially in winter, it promotes Trogir's hotels and newly founded Society for tourism improvement, building of bathing-place and board and lodging 'Saldun'.
In the same year, Trogir and its monuments experience extraordinary international promotion by setting magnificant copy of Trogir's relief 'Kairos' at the enterance of the stadium of the Berlin Olympic games, reminding the world of rich cultural touristic values of Trogir and of thousand years old Olympic history when people competed in honour of this Greek God of happy moment.
Trogir marks more intensive post-war touristic movements, especially the development of foreign tourism, after 60s of the 20th century when along already exising pre-war town's hotel 'Radovan' and rest center 'Đuro Đaković' on Čiovo, hotel 'Jadran' in Seget Donji is reconstructed and expanded and Touristic alliance of Trogir's district is created.(1963). Building of the motel 'Trogir' follows (1965.), than building of moto-camp Rožac on Čiovo and finally more rest-centers and capacities in private accomodation in the area of Trogir and island of Čiovo and Drvenik Veliki.
