Okrug

Okrug is situated in the west part of the island of Čiovo. It consists of Okrug Gornji and Okrug Donji, two traditional Dalmatian places. Its geographical position makes it a center of Dalmatian micro region. It has mild Meditarrenean climate, rich subtropical and Mediterranean vegetation, archipelago of picturesce islets, numerous little hidden bays and beaches. Having this in mind, Okrug is one of the most attractive touristic destinations in Croatia, with its 2670 sunny hours annually.

In Okrug Gornji and Donji there are  many restaurants, wineshops and other catering establishments with rich choice of authentic Dalmatian specialties. To all its guests, along with sunshine and clear sea, it offers different sport contents. Diving school offers the possibility of pleasure in the beauties of Adriatic submarine; fitness centre with tennis courts can free you from the stress of modern life. Daily trips to quiet little bays by boats are organized; scuters are rented parashute flights to local beach are done.

Proximity of Trogir (2 kilometers), that is under the protection of UNESCO, offers the possibility of enjoying in its 2800 years old core, and the possibility of night life. From Čiovo you can go to trip to Krka falls (60 kilometers), Split (33 kilometers), or Međugorje(100 kilometers). Important fact is that the airport Split is only 8 kilometers away. Average air temperature is 16 degrees and 281 day in a year with an average temperature above 10 degrees are preconditions for pleasant stay during the whole year.

Because Okrug 'has luck' to be situated on the island that is so close to everything, only island in Croatia  that is so connected to land or even an international airport

Okrug Gornji is a place that has a charm of a small place about which books were written and shows were made. While you watch fishermen and old men sitting on the walls, you remember some good European movie from the 70s of the last century and only then you realise that that movie wasn't even close enough to the impressive real  pictures of living in a small place.
