On such a small space since it is possible to see all coast in just one day, beauties attract you so you wish to stay for eternity in each place you visit. Every town on the coast tells its own story, Dubrovnik is a pearl that used to be an independant republic, it is rounded by walls and the walls are what makes it proud. Split is a town that has been built by an emparor and it keeps its 'emparor' sign even today and well-kept palace makes it one of the most beautiful Mediterranean cities. Šibenik is a town proud of UNESCO's cathedral, Zadar is rich with history whose beauty wars tried to destroy, although its looks today are considerably different from what it used to be during world wars.
Throughout history, Croatian culture (art, literature and architecture) was mostly under the influenceof western European trends, and the consequence is that all main european syles can be fond in Croatia. Through its urban culture Croatia became a member of UNESCO thanks to Palace of Diocletian
from 4th century, towns Dubrovnik and Trogir and Euphrasie's Basilica from the 6th century in Poreč. Highly developed urban culture in Croatia and proof of turbulent historical events in this area is seen in many preserved Middle Ages towns in Central Istra and baroque and renaissance castles in Croatian Zagorje, same as in different antique buildings along Adriatic coast. Also, numerous cathedrals, from romanic in Krk, Senj, Rab, Zadar, Trogir, to gothic on Korčula and Zagreb or renaissance in Šibenik and Hvar to baroque in Dubrovnik, are all a part of turbulent history and rich cultural heritage, meeting of cultures and styles on our areas.
Highway – one of the most beautiful in Europe
Highway, one of the most beautiful in Europe, makes it easier to travel along the coast as well as to come to wanted destination. And, as we can see – destination is really improvement. One saying Croatia was known for was 'Small country for big tourism', and today, that saying is even more connected to Adriatic 'Meditarrean as it used to be'. And really, all you know about Mediterranean stops to exist in the moment you see how it exists in Croatia. Minimally influenced by world infrastructural development, what is really important, because Croatia, especcially its coastal part amounts in monuments that date even before our era.
