Adriatic Sea
Young Croatia known for Adriatic
What makes this country special, apart from its natural beauties, is its rich thousand years old history that can be felt on every step, and that a visitor can be able to see even more than the inhabitant used to it....
Capital of Croatia, Zagreb, is a center of cultural and economical events, but what many know Croatia for is its coastal beauty. Adriatic Sea that follows Croatian coast, from Istra to Dubrovnik, is one of the cleanest and most beautiful in the world. Indented shore is one of rare fenomenas that appear in the world, and a number of thousand islands in such a small country is really astonishing.
Adriatic is, therefor, recognizable Croatian protection sign. Lovers of Croatian coast are anonimous and well known inhabitants of the world – and what makes them a unique big family is the fact that, once they come, they always come back.
Adriatic got its name after a port of the same name. Today, city called Adria is on Italian coast, 38 kilometers from the sea, what is a result of geological forces because of which northern coast rises and southern sags. Adriatic encloses a space between the Balkan and Italian Penisula. A part that belongs to the Republic of Croatia is eastern coast that spreads from Prevlaka on south to cape Savurdija on west including all islands, islets and cliffs along the coast as well as archipelago Palagruža (number of islands, islets and cliffs is over 1700), and represents unique area in Europe for sailing by boats, speed boats and sailing boats and for enjoying submarine world.
